During 2006, the Happyness Drum Circle was involved in delivering CPD training to all auxillary and learning support staff in Highland region. The sessions included giving ideas for simple rhythm activities in the classroom and for small groups. Activities included body percussion, boomwhacking, simple percussion games and ideas on using African Drums to engage and motivate children in their learning.
We have worked with many staff groups over the years on INSET days, and offer a unique package to schools that are wanting something a little different on their next In-Service day.
Our staff workshops are designed to build confidence in teachers and provide them with the necessary tools to use drumming and rhythm activities in their classroom. Drumming is a great way to motivate and inspire children, and can be used to broaden their edcuation not only in music, but in other areas such as maths, language skills and personal and social development.
Coupled with this, our staff workshops are a great way to bring the staff together in an activity that will build your team and leave everyone feeling inspired and connected in a new way.
